Should you choose to accept it…

Create a 4-7 minute video telling your story (or let us create it with you)!

The purpose is twofold: to create a space for people’s stories to be told and heard AND to grow a bank of videos that can be used to support other people’s learning process about our amazing differences AND similarities.

If you live near Charlottesville, we can film you at our studio or at your location. Answer a question(s) of your choice from the suggested list below or create your own.

1. Given how you identify (religion, sexual orientation, dis/ability, ethnicity/culture, race, socio-economic class, gender, nationality, size, language, mental illness – or intersection of more than one) what do you wish people (teachers/professors/healthcare providers/law enforcement/parents) had known and/or done differently when you were in younger?
2. Talk about the richness, gifts, sacredness, and/or meaning of your socio-cultural identity (one aspect or the  intersection of more than one).
3. Talk about how power has played out for you around the way(s) you identify and relationships, religion, community, work, school, media, and/or other institutions.

If you make your own video, the camera on your computer should be fine but please make sure you use plenty of light! It doesn’t have to be perfect and we can edit on this end to give it a polished finish. Make sure it’s saved as an MP4 file. If you are not in the Charlottesville area you can send it to us using Google docs. Email us when you’re ready to upload and we’ll send you the access information! By uploading your video you are agreeing to the terms for use listed below. If you live in our area and we are videotaping you, you can view the edited version prior to our use and you can grant or deny permission for use at that time. 

Let us know if you have any questions, get stuck, or change your mind and would like us NOT to use a video you’ve submitted.
