2023 PDA Consultant Certification Application

Online Training for 4 Sundays: February 5, 12, 19, 26 (3 hours each day)

• • • Cost: Sliding scale, pay what you can between $200 to $500 (work exchange also available)
      
    • Primary Benefit: If you successfully complete PDA certification you may sub-contact as a consultant for/through The Sum earning $60 to $100 per hour on a flexible schedule as many hours as you would like (as available).
      

The application below, PDA completion, and consultation with the Executive Director are required in order to be considered for the certification program. We will contact you about PDA completion (if you haven’t taken it already) after you submit this application.

Certification requires:

1. 1. The above four trainings (12 hours altogether), which will be held 4 successive Sunday evenings from 5-8 pm (Eastern Standard Time).  Attendance is required for all 4 meetings.
   2. Acheiving all learning outcomes and evaluations listed in the syllabus according to The Sum and its staff
   3. Approximately 30 pages of study of the PDA Consultant Handbook prior to/during the 4 weeks.
   4. A signed Confidentiality Agreement and a PDA Authorization (financial agreement details).
   5. Three to five (or more) practice consultations which include the Executive Director (until you both feel comfortable with your consulting independently) are required in the first month after the training.
   6. Completion of the training does not guarantee certification. In some cases additional learning may be recommended.

 Successfully  certified consultants will be eligible to consult only through The Sum according to a standard fee structure. The standard PDA fee is $120 to $200.  Consultants will receive half this amount ($60-$100) and The Sum will receive the other half for each individual consultation. Group consultations are also negotiated individually (depending on organization size, nonprofit status, etc).

A limited number of applicants will be accepted.
